Local Businesses and Gatley Primary School joined forces on Friday to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event attended by Mary Robinson MP and Councillor Iain Roberts raised in excess of £400 for the charity and saw the community link up to show their support for people and families affected by cancer.
Callaghans estate agent, Lowick Mackay solicitors, Magic Moments gift shop and used furniture store, Remember When, provided cake and coffee, whilst a number of pupils from Gatley Primary sacrificed their playtime to man the cake stalls.
Local bakers, Mathers Bakery generously donated a number of baked goods, whilst Gatley's Community Police Officers also stopped in to say hello and enjoy a quick coffee before resuming duties.
Sean Callaghan, Managing Director of Callaghans said, “ Our main priority was to raise some funds for Macmillan, but the event also gave us a chance to come outside and a take a minute to enjoy conversation with our friends and neighbours in the Village. The children were fantastic and we're grateful the event was so well attended."
