On a cold frosty morning last week, Callaghans received a rather interesting letter. It was a note all the way from the North Pole! Mrs Claus wrote to say her husband had been invited to switch on the Christmas lights in Gatley village, by his very dear friends the Gatley Village Partnership.
Mrs Claus was worried however, that Santa might be too tired to make the event. After all he'd had a rather busy November and December collecting Christmas letters from children all over the world. Mrs Claus wondered whether Callaghans might be able to provide somewhere warm and cosy for Santa to spruce himself up before the big Christmas light switch on? Not to mention a cup of tea and a mince pie or two!
Mr Callaghan and his staff were delighted, they'd met some special people during their fifteen years in Gatley and entertained many a wonderful guest or two, but never one so magical and exciting as Father Christmas!
And so Santa and his helper Elf, Caitlin came to the village and met many wonderful people. Not forgetting little Freddie from Gatley who asked for just one thing...a magazine!
" Ps. Mrs Claus wrote, do you do valuations outside of Manchester?!"
